The Wide Angle Closeup
A dramatic but difficult perspective.
Let’s talk about planning your shoot:

What to expect from a wide angle lens
A wide angle lens includes more of what is in front of the camera. On the beach above with Amanda, the lens is about 24 inches away from her back, the 15mm fish eye lens is bending the horizon to fit more width of the image in, her arm is highly distorted – as are her hips and shoulders compared to their natural proportions. Take a quick look at the film below and guess how wide the lens is and how close it is to the subject:
How to plan for POV – working wide angle intimately
The 20mm wide angle lens used in this film is exaggerating the size relationships, but bringing a VERY CLOSEUP EXPERIENCE TO THE FOOTAGE. If you are comfortable getting the camera a few inches from your face – you’ll see how the eye contact and angles make it really interesting to watch. Don’t kid yourself, you’ll accidently bump the lens – as it’s our goal to work as close as possible to your mouth to exxagerate all the shapes and add drama and closeup intensity. Generally this is called Point of View (POV) in porn. If you’ve never known the why of what you’re watching, this is the why to help you understand what we’re working toward.
Your human eye has a field of view of about 46° degrees – while I have lenses that will cover all the way up to 110°. With the wide angle we can include what your lips are doing, while seeing your eyes and facial expression. The camera may be as close as a foot from your bodies, and so it’s really something to consider if you’re ready for being that intimate while filming.
